Tool Box

Hello y'all, I hope I'm posting this on the correct area if not my apologies. I just purchased a 1966 f100 long bed. The problem is the tool box that was on the passenger side of bed is gone. Does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks for your time. And looking forward to being apart of a long time dream of restoring a great truck!

Welcome to FTE

There were two different tool compartments, one for the short Styleside Bed, one for the long Styleside bed. These show up, both used and NOS, on ebay every so often.

Styleside applications: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD.

1967/72 & 1973/79 also offered tool compartments (8' bed only). Will not work on 1964/66's as the door contours are different.

Long way from WA to FL But, these things don't grow on trees, are hard to find. So if someone needs one, what's 3,000 miles? Shipping it by greydog would be the cheapest.

Hey Leoman66. Ya could start a build thread so we all can watch and learn as ya work on yer truck. It helps to try and keep it all in one thread. And we like pic's. There are a whole lot of folks here that really know your truck type and love to help.

Did I mention that we really like lots of pics. It takes 25 post or a supporter ticket to use the site search engine. And some other stuff. But Goggle works.

I'll be watching for your thread. I have a 66 tonner that runs and drives for the most part. Was going to part it out but my 12 year old wants to get it on the road cleaned up and dependable to use for a wood truck and make a few bucks. Without a shop to work in makes it tough.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

There is one on eBay for a 67-72, I am correct in saying it would not work for the 66?

I already told you it wouldn't work and here's the reason why.

1967/72 F100/350 Styleside lower quarter panels have a curvature, so the tool door is curved.

1964/66's do not have a curved tool compartment door, it's flat as Kansas.

67 to 72 also is integrally stamped recessed flange in the bedside for attachment. Whereas the earlier box mounts to the outside with external flanges.

Pic's are in his Album now Guys.

Nice solid looking truck. It used to have A/C.

It's got a radio and CC trim. Is it a Camper Special?

That is not a 66 Grill. Looks like a 65.

I have a Bright 66 Grill in damn good shape still on my F350.

My youngest smashed all the glass out of the gauges the other day.

I am still trying to decide if I want to part it out or not. It's a CC as well.
