Need help in removing dash trim
Can anybody tell me how to get the dash trim off my '94 Ranger? I'm talking about the plastic piece that goes around the top and sides of the dash. I've got a factory manual for the truck, but it's no help at all, and I don't want to start yanking and break it. I see no screws. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

To remove the trim from the dash you need to remove the ash tray. Once it is out you will see a small headed bolt in each lower corner of the opening and out close to you. Not down inside. These bolts may also have a Torx socket on them as well so you can use either one. Once you take out both bolts you can remove the rail and support for the ashtray. The inner end of this support slides onto a metal tab to hold it in place, so it just slides out. Also disconnect the wire for the lighter. Should just unplug the hot wire and the ground. Or if the wires are long enough just let it hang out down to the floor. You may also need to remove your radio. Check on this site for radio removal instructions. Once you have these parts removed you can start to pull off the trim from down at the bottom where the ash tray was. The remainder of the panel is held on by spring push clips around the perimeter that you should be able to move when you pull out away from the other part of the dash pad with your fingers.
