I want to give a update on this! Seems allot of threads don't get completed with what or if the problem has ever been resolved! So the original factory drive shaft was worn out according to a local drive line shop. So I waited patiently I finally ran across a guy that works at a local dealership that allowed me to use his employee discount. which saved me about 100 dollars. So I installed the drive shaft and took a test drive. it was better but not perfect. I continued to drive the truck 2 months later I decided to purchase a carrier shim kit from Summit. I just received it today and installed a 3/8 and a 1/8 Shim with the factory bolts. The VIBRATION is GONE!! The only thing I can figure is the angle of the shaft with out any load weight will not allow the slip joint to slip and move properly! I hope in the Future that someone else will try this kit for 50 dollars before thinking that they have bad ball joints and ect. I was begging to think there was a miss in the motor bad clutch and or alignment issue.

First, thank you for posting the resolution. Is your truck lifted?

No lift! I does have the front leveling kit. I wad told it was a 2 1/2" kit. From all of the hardware looks to be a brand made by or sold by Jack It. As I drove into work today about 20 miles it was s world of difference! Bit once in a while you could tell it eantrf to do the whole truck bouncy thing. I'm going to remove the 1/8" shim tonight and see what that does.

The front leveling kit will change the angle enough to cause this problem. I went through a similar situation right after installing my 2" front leveling kit. I did have a bad center carrier bearing, and replaced that, but it was the shims which finally resolved the vibration for me.

I just picked up a vibration a few weeks ago after greasing the slip-yoke. 30-40 gives be a hearty steering wheel vibration. Then from 55+ it's only there with throttle, decel is fine, until 30-40.

Stock height truck.
Tire rotation makes no changes.

Sounds like a driveline issue for sure... could be center support bearing, u-joints, etc.

I left the center support in place when I greased the splines. And the u-joints seamed OK. Maybe I stressed the center bearing when I was checking the u-joints?

Still, if you can lift the drive shaft to create more than 1/8" vertical movement at the center bearing, the bearing should be replaced.

Did you put the slip yolk back the way it came off? All the U-joints need to be lined up straight. The reason for this is that's how it was assembled when balanced. You could also be off 180 degrees and it could cause a vibration.

Sorry, I should've mentioned that; I marked everything, and put it all back exactly the way it came apart.

Ok back again for a update.

It seems that it is better still. But when at about 35-45 mph it still has this bouncy whole truck vibration. More less it seems that it's coming from the front. The other day I checked the U-Joint on the front drive axle that connect to the hog head. It did have some resistance in several positions. This may need to be replaced. Also I checked the side to side of the whole front drive axle mounting to the truck left to right. You Know that the Trac bar is what keeps this centered under the truck. Well I have a adjustable Trac bar that I put on last year. the axle still sits about 1" to the left. I have the bar adjusted to its shortest lenght. With the axle being off like this cause this vibration also?
