hey all you dodge freaks guess what I Heard. In a couple years ford is planing to sighn on to cummings and start using there I6 diesels. So you can start kissing dodge goodbye with there crappy frame and body dodge just doesnt got a chance baby Ha hahahahahahahah. Take that and eat Bit#%
How do I know you ask. My friends dad owns a shop ford came by one day to ask to film a comerical for the 2003 expedition. He got talking with the ford guy. At that time I came in and asked if ford will be putting cummings engines in ford trucks. Guess what he said. Ford now offers the cummings in the fleet f-350 as a option. He said that in a couple years that ford will start purchising cummings engines and offer them in ther supyduty fleet and the 6.0 will still be made but may be stoped in production if the cummings doese well. So I say again dodge hasnt got a single blody chance baby.
The new Dodge Truck (at least I read) is underpowered, simply, it weighs too much. That Hemi is putting out the power - but it ain't helping one bit.
And for all new trucks? They are all expensive, what do you expect? They now have options that were only available on high end luxury cars only a few years ago.
It's mind boggling.
My view is - who needs all that junk? I want utility!
Thats why I got a '79 F350. Lots of power, and dirt cheap!
When I get my 390 done, it'll make more HP and torque than that new dodge hemi. And that's on 30+ year old technology. And I guarantee when it's in my truck, it'll out pull and out run any dodge truck with a hemi any day of the week. Although, it could probably do that now. Will that dodge truck be around in 33 years? Probably not.

well if that is true then it will not be until 2007. thats when the NEW contract runs out and they will have to resign one or not.
I have to say I love a Hemi myself, A "426 hemi" which I have owned for over 20 years in a all original dodge superbee, the new hemi did not empress me at all,we'll see what the aftermarket does with it,But boys let me tell you, Chrysler products have always had poor resale value, so unless you want to hang on to it for 20+ years, you are going to lose your butt!
dman01: Just out of curiosity why would a dodge P/U owner be trolling a ford website? Doesn't dodge have one or just not enough owners to start one!
Just my thoughts, Lenny
I came over here to try to get my old 69 ford dump truck running again. which I did get the help I wanted and it is rolling again for how long who knows. I started reading about what Ford guys were saying about the Cummins powered trucks and saw that some still thought that Ford owned Cummins So I figured I would stay just to clear up some mis-information that has been passed on to this site.
If ford grabs cummins then dodge will be getting a Mercedes diesel, quieter and more powerful than the cummins. YOu can do a lot to a cummins yes, but I would love to see a good 'ole mercedes vs cummins pulling war......

If I had the money and the truck was in better shape body wise then I would but the truck is only used to haul dirp and other junk on the farm. We never even taged it to drive on the road.

If they thought ford owned cummins, I hope you got that straightened out, they don't!!
I was just razzing you a little anyway!! I love chrsyler products myself, only the ones produced between 1967 thru 1973 and of the high performance nature!! They are a blast to drive and now a very GOOD investment !!
Yeah I like the old cars just as much as the new ones. I'm helping my cousin restore a 71 cuda with a mild built 340 engine and a baby blue paint job. It is one really good looking car. He has some hopes of finding a 6 pack carb setup for it.
I see you have a Ford V10. I talked to my friends dad lastnight "owns dodge dealership" and he said the Dodge V10 production has been cut and they only have a few hundred engines left. I'm sad to see the V10 go but He said he heard some rumors of a bigger Hemi to replace the V10 so the the small hemie will be standerd equipment for all trucks but the bigger Hemi will be an option like the Cummins.
Even IF the new srt hemi 1500 was to "dominate all " The 04 lightining would spank the Doge even though they both have 500/hp and 500/lbs the Ford has technology on it's side with the cold air boost from the A/c. Also would'nt you think that if Doge were to bring back the hemi that they would make them like they used to like a 426 which had mass hp instead of a wimpy 345hp?
anyways Ford Rules and ''slopar'' gets smoked.
