Ford or not?
How can Ford get away with overcharging us for our ugly slow trucks?
Especially when there is another dealer accross the street with a 345HP Hemi? For $24,000 out the door.

WHY???? Because an F150 will outlast a Hemi. My buddy works for Daimlerchrysler, and can get me a Ram for 1% below dealer invoice. Needless to say, I a got a new F150. Couldn't pay me to buy a Hemi. Yeah, it may be 345 hp, but after 6 years, and 75,000 miles, I GUARANTEE it will be in the shop way more than any Ford, and any chevy as well.

Junk yard? My old 77 with 180,000 on the clock will smoke your Hemi any day of the week. I even yanked a 12,000lb forlift, that was stuck, out of the dirt, and didn't even bend the bumper. Try that with your new Dodge. I'll haul what's left of your frame to the scrapper when you get done.

That's great that 345HP impresses... If my life was about horse power then I'd give you the "Ford's better but I can't come back with any argument." My life is about torque and at the time my engine was the best for it's displacement in the range I want to use.
Now ask yourself why does Dodge have to come out with a 345 HP, 5.7L, Hemi... cause the 360 wasn't doin' the job? Naw... cause the 5.4 's a better engine. It's called one-ups-manship and it's very healthy for competition. Gotta keep up with the Jones' with all that OHC stuff.
Dodge would be my SECOND choice as they haven't been the greatest but I know them better than a GM product. Ford is what I was raised with and owned since I was new to this world. Never had a complaint or problem I couldn't fix with a Ford. The wife's Dodge.. well now how do you tear the pan of the transaxle after you remove the bolts? Even the local Dodge dealer hasn't got a clue on that one.

One of my Chevy lovin' friends got a Hemi Ram. Had it for all of 2 days before he traded it for a Cummins Diesel. He said the milage was as bad as his 67 Chevy 4x4 with a built 383, and it wasn't as strong. It's kinda like Chevy. "our 5.3 has 300 Hp and Bla bla bla torque at 3500 rpm." 3500 rpm? Uh, I thought that you wanted low end torque in a truck. Considering that the 5.4 has 90% of it's peak torque at 2000 rpm, I can see what can work like a truck, and what is good for a drag strip. Most people don't drag their trucks.
BTW, think an 03 Ram will be around in 35 years like my 67. Actually, I think that most trucks sold today wont. Darn planned obsolesance.

KingHemi pleas don't come here just to start a war thread. I'am a dodge guy meself and have been a victon of a few bad Fords hence why I have all dodges. Try to keep arguments to a battle of wit and not fists.
We can't change them but its fun trying. .maybe some day they will come to the darkside.

I have to say I love a Hemi myself, A "426 hemi" which I have owned for over 20 years in a all original dodge superbee, the new hemi did not empress me at all,we'll see what the aftermarket does with it,But boys let me tell you, Chrysler products have always had poor resale value, so unless you want to hang on to it for 20+ years, you are going to lose your butt!
dman01: Just out of curiosity why would a dodge P/U owner be trolling a ford website? Does"nt dodge have one or just not enough owners to start one!
Just my thoughts, Lenny

he kept the noise up for a couple weeks. said Ford's 5.4L couldn't hope to compete with the "mighty hemi"
finally I ran him with my stock Expy . . . Well, I'll tell you all . . . Those marketing guys over at dodge do great work (let's say they were a bit optimistic when publishing the hp ratings to be nice)
I SPANKED HIM . . . THREE TIMES!!
If that hemi is REALLY putting out 345HP at the crank, it's losing about 125+ hp SOMEWHERE in the drive train! I would love to see a dyno run because I know they are wrong!
