Problem ID'ing this motor

I purchased a motor/trans from a guy recently who told me it was a 302/C4. That is what it looked like to me but upon examination of the block casting it read: C90E-6015-C, which from reseach here on this site shows to be a 351W block.

That being said all the descriptors of a 302 seem to be true on the block. The distance across the intake is 8 1/2"-9". The distributor is flush with the intake. So it is most likely a 302

My issue comes with trying to find an oil pickup. It has a dual sump oil pan but no pickup. I have had a heck of a time trying to find a pickup that fits. I have purchased two pickups and both don't fit with the oil pan.

I will add pics as I can as we are preparing for the arrival of Tropical Storm/ Hurricane Issac.

That's a 302, with Ford the casting number really doesn't tell you anything except when the mold for the part was produced and for what auto division, after that it's comes down to visually identifying exactly what you have. If you are putting this in a truck you will likely need a rear sump pan and oil pickup to match anyway so....

That seems a little vague, what year of truck? Wouldn't a 65 to 79 2wd take a front sump? Maybe lots of other years too.

It's a 40. It had a 350 Chevy in it with a 74 Nova front clip. I pulled the 350 and intend on getting rid of the Nova clip (different issues) and putting the 302 in it. It has a rear sump oil pan but came with no pick up. I am trying to find a new pickup but have had issues finding one that fits.

As far as ID'ing the motor goes, I thought it was a 302 but the block numbers kept confusing me. Thanks for confirming things
