96 stalling problem

96 stalling problem

hey guys i have a 96 7.3 auto with 126xxx on it and it has a tendancy to stall once and awhile...i drove it from flordia to CT and it ran mint the way home and for a awhile after around 5k miles after.. than one day it fell on its face coming off a stop sign and started skipping as and check engine light came on.. i made it home which was about a mile down the road and it cleared up and light turned off.. i changed the fuel filter thinking it was dirty and it was fine for a bit. than it decided to start stalling every once and awhile. any suggestions guys thanks

You might try a new cam position sensor. They are know to cause problems in these trucks

What code did it throw? My guess would be the CPS (crankcase position sensor) or the under valve cover harness plug ins have a burnt pin or two. These both are common problems.
