1997 engine swap
1997 F-150 XLT extended cab 4.6l vin 6 with over 280,000 miles and a head gasket leak. Exhaust gas is presurizing my radiator and pushing out the coolant. Garages say too many miles on the clock for new heads. Would like to retain my trans which has performed without a problem, so far. Local shop wants $4600+ to install a rebuild Jasper engine. What years of engines will interchange with what I've got. Considering doing the swap myself. Have done lots of minor engine and other work, but nothing this extensive. Any help?
