Howdy ya'll I have a 1997 f150 with a bad 4.6 (vin 6) engine and found a 2006 crown vic engine with low miles for a good price.
My question is will the 06 engine work in my 97 truck?
I know some things like the intake and exhaust will need to be changed is there anything else that will prevent me from doing the swap?
I've already rented a trailer to take my truck over and start having the swap done, but the mechanic has some reservations about the swapability PLEASE help me out!
You need to also take into account that the Vic has PI head and your 97 is non PI so i do not know if the sensors are all in the same location or if they are even the same. I know when i looked into a PI swap for my 5.4L there are many sensors that are for the 01+ engines that the 97-00 engines don't have or are in different locations with a different style sensor.
