Long story short, I have a buddy that about to move he has a 1978 F150 2wd with a 351M and what I believe is a C6 transmission. Hes offering it to me for $500 other then some half dollar size wholes above the drip rail on the cab the whole truck is solid. I my self have a 1975 with a 390FE and a C6 which decided it wanted to crap the bucket on me. It shifts really hard and started leaking from the front of the transmission where it meets up to the flywheel and from the gear selector inputs into the transmission casing. "for give me for the crued discription I know zero about transmissions".
I have looked and search and I cant find a direct answer. I want to take the C6 from his 351M and use it on my 390FE. I know the torque converters have different bolt patterns. But can I just take the torque converter off my old C6 and put it on this new one. Im only bothering with this because his C6 is brand new less then 300 miles on it. Thanks for the help.
sounds like you should replace the front pump bushing and a new torque convertor
just putting a seal in may only fix it a few weeks
not familiar with the kit, maybe it has bushings?????????
