windshield scrape

gotta 56 pick-up, the windshield has a scrape line from the wiper arm (worn blade) not dug in to where i can feel it with my finger but it has a mark about half the travel of the wiper arm, can a glass shop polish it out or is a compound available so i could save a couple bucks.

If you can't feel it with your finger nail, I'd start with a good wash and scrub. I'd use Dawn dish soap, just incase it's grease or wax on the windshield. Plus you'll need a clean area to work with.

Then I'd try a clay bar on it, if that didn't bring it up, I'd step up to a chrome polish. Just don't do the wax on, wax off swirl. Wipe from right to left only. If those don't lift the scratch you might also try rubbing compound (enamel polish) or even one of the headlight polishing kits.
