Other than my alleration for a topic heading , I have a question...
I replaced the windshield in my F-150 about a year ago. Well even with new quality blades and new arms, I still get hardcore smearing of the water on the windshield.
Is there anything I can do other than putting on RainX each time I wash the truck? Maybe use glass polish on it?
I'd get rid of the Rain-X. I've never seen it work - it just seems to do what you're describing. I'd use Goof-Off, mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, Simple Green, vinegar, or Acetone - whatever it takes.
It's probably ruined the wiper blades, too , so I wouldn't put them back on the clean glass.
Once it's gone and you have clean blades, if you still have problems, I'd polish the windshield with polishing/rubbing compound or a glass polishing kit.
