Torque Shift Fluid Change
I need to change the fluid in my 07 V10 auto. I have read that the machine needs to heat the fluid in order the do a full flush. I called the 2 area dealers today and neither has the heated machine but both guaranteed they could do a full fluid exchange. What gives?
The part that scared my was one dealer, the biggest, didn't even know there was an external filter.
I have never pulled real heavy with this truck. My boat is only 4k lbs and is the heaviest I have pulled. Should I just drain the pan and replace the external filter?
Also, both dealers still used Mercon SP. I thought that was phased out?
I searched thru most of Mark K's posts and couldn't find a clear answer.
Without a heated flush machine they can't do a full fluid exchange. If they don't know it has an external filter they won't know they can't do a full exchange.
If you can't find a heated machine your only option is to drain and refill the pan. I thought MERCON SP was going away, too, but it still seems to be available. You can use either MERCON SP or MERCON LV. Either one is fine.
