Good luck trying to get them to seal. My '66 won't even think about sealing with less than 2 gaskets per side. Even now it craps out one corner and leaks, either right on the alternator or exact opposite side. But i have had to pull that header quite a few times for starters and what not.
The new headers i got i put up on the boring mill and dusted them flat. I'm hoping they will seal better that way.
Im running some headers from Flowtech that I purchased from Jegs. They are in a 65 F100 4wd truck. They are a kind of tight tuck to the block and I had to make a few mods on the truck to make them fit but not to bad all in all. I have put maybe a few thousand miles on since installing them. I went back once and checked the bolts and they were a little loose. I retightned them. Im using the gaskets that came with them and no problems so far.
Edit on a side note the bolts that came with them could be a little longer. Just incase anyone from flowtech is reading this.
Hi-Temp Loc-Tight and milling the header is almost a given with FE headers. There used to be a set that came with the bolt heads drilled for a piece of wire to go through. If nothing else it kept the bolts from falling clear out.
Get the best headers ya can than have them milled is my .02
