You can all tell me I'm crazy if you want... but I wonder if anyone else has noticed this. I have a 1994 super cab dually, 2 wheel drive, 5 speed, 4:10 gears that I pull my Bronco around with inside a 48' Featherlite enclosed goosneck trailer.
Two things. First, I SWEAR that the thing pulls harder up hills if the cruise is set... loses less speed than if I were to just hold her to the floor.
Second, when coming down a hill, and I am talking steep hills (I've been on 'em all) if I have the cruise set at say 55 MPH it will STAY there. And then if I hit coast once, it will drop to 54. As soon as I turn the cruise off, the truck speeds up and starts coasting down the hill. I did not install an engine brake, the engine is completely stock at 348,000 miles on it. It's not bugging me or anything, I just never hear anyone else talk about it.
