Brought the X to work today AMD driving it it reminded me of a problem I have been hunting for.
When driving up and down gentle grades on city freeways it feels like the drive line is loading and unloading as you crest hills and start coasting down a bit. It's not shifting and the custom tune has the torque convertor locked up at those speeds. The RPM's so not change and it doesnt matter of in cruise or not.
It is a significant bump as it loads and unloads on the drive line. Is it anything to worry about? Anyone else have this situation?
V10, 4.30 rear, 160k on truck, 120k on ford trans. Has done this before and after the rear end swap.
It could be but I'm wondering if what you're describing is a loose u joint. Does it clunk at all?
It doesnt clunck but feels as hard as my shifts while towing with the towing tune. When I swapped the rear axle I checked and couldn't find an obviously bad u joint.
