Evening all. Internet has been down and I've been trying to stretch my 30 GB hot spot limits as far as I could. Cable Fiber Optic seems to be up and running fine now.
I was the oldest so no hand me downs for me either. However, my jeans were always bought with legs too long so I had to cuff them up and unroll them as I grew. I had a number of pairs of blue jeans that were more iron on patches than denim. Also had cowboy boots wrapped in tape to hold them together.

Iron on Patches were so cool but then mom would sew them cause they could work loose, sometimes they were strange looking patches. She so creative maybe ! Mom saved old Denims just to patch holes in worn stuff. Was like a pack rat of denim !
U no, I collect denim stuff now also never thought abut it but it must be Hereditary ! I got some Sleeves in stackable containers !

Good morning guys!
I remember my mom buying tough skins from Sears. They were basically jeans that were so rigid that they could stand in the corner by themselves. My mom would get patches for the knees (when they were brand new) and my grandma would sew them on for her as my mother could not sew much more than a button. After a week, those indestructible jeans were about worn out! The first hole in the knee was a badge of honor and a sign they were finally getting broken in. We played so hard back then. Sun-up until sun-down. We had no idea how good we had it

Howdy guys, I've been busy learning about Medicare and all the different supplemental insurance my wife is going to have to have when I retire..... mind boggling.
Gerry,
Thanks for the old photos, here are my two favorites from today. The first one looks like it is going to be a rough landing.. And the second one well what can I say, a beautiful classy woman and a beautiful classy car! What more can a man want!

Always got new Sears tough skin pants for going back to school, in fall. Mom would of course patch them as long as she could but boys back then were tough on clothes and moms were frugal. The following spring when the warm weather arrived, the most patched pants were surgically altered to become shorts for the summer. Life was so simple back then. Summers lasted forever.
