Wheels for a 1998 Explorer
I am getting a 1998 Explorer; 2 door, 4.05 speed. The only thing is, the wheels are not available. I have searched the Internet but could not find a satisfactory answer. I have been told that the Ranger, Mustang, and, of course, Explorer will fit. But what years models would fit? I will be searching the junk yards and would like to know what years and models I need to know exactly what to search.

Too bad you are so far away, as I have a good set of 15x7s sitting out back.
Billions of these were served. Millions were lost in accidents. But millions survive. Watch out for bent ones as they will bend a ways before they break. (I have a bent one too.....)

OH< reread your OP, I get it....
Yes, millions out there, but make sure you spin them on a hub or otherwise check them for straigt. Pass on anything that looks like it hit a curb.
These are very light wheels if you are going aluminum. My 15x7 and 16x7s were about 16lbs. My Toyota 17x7.5s, admittedly a bigger wheel, were 27 lbs!
Some other Ford 5 on 4.5 wheels will work, but Crown Vic or Grand Ma wheels might not be the look you want. Check your hub size also if you are 4x4.
