Thanks for the info guys.
Flareside- I appreciate the offer, but I am gonna pass!(you even asked for the top of the line model! What? base unit not good enough for ya?!?!?)
Explorer- I will keep the sizes in mind. My only criteria is that it must have an aux input, so factory units are out unless I want to solder one in, but then you still have a very low power radio with limited functionality.
So, after much debate, I had decided on the unit from custom auto sound. Given their equal sound specs, I was content with the CAS unit because frankly it looks factory. Then, while doing more research on where to get it, I came across a TON of negative reviews on the CAS unit. Many people are unhappy with the sound quality, the "cheap feel", and the durability of the unit. Seriously, 9 out of every 10 reviews I found were against the custom auto sound unit and almost all of them had supporting evidence for their claims. IT WAS ESPECIALLY DISCONCERTING TO SEE THE REP FROM THEIR COMPANY CHIME IN ON ALL THE FORUMS TO DEFEND THEIR UNIT WITH THE EXACT SAME RESPONSE! Now I know that we are all more inclined to post things like that when we have a negative opinion, and if they were somewhat more balanced I wouldn't have been so concerned.
In the end, I decided on the retrosound model. It will be here in a few days, and I will post pictures once installed. Thanks for your opinions all!
