ever bracket that i could have removed was and was coated separately in Dupicolor truck boat coating after it was sanded and painted with rust converter
You call that rusty?!?!?!?! This is 12 years of New England weather for ya
mmmm.... A taste of home! Wade and I are only about 20 minutes from each other. My truck is just as bad, or worse. It's the way it is (around here at least). In NE, our TIRES have rust!
and this is the new passenger bed panel that has high spots in the clear coat buffing. i was told that after 30 days when i can wax it finally they will go away with wax?
Truck looks real good. It is too bad so few take pride in their work. Its evene worse that you have to live with the lack of others peoples workmanship. I've seen countless times where a lead tech will pass off simple tasks to lube jockies and that is the result. Sorry that it happened to you, but probably not as sorry as they will be after your next "visit".
The rest of the work came out quite nicely though. You MUST be happy to have her back in one piece
the battery died in it like four years ago and i never used the door fob anyways so i figured id remove it and thats when i found all the cuts in the paint. I'm not a body guy at all but all i used was a heat gun set too low and the tape pulled Right off with no problem. I then used a citrus glue remover and removed the small amount of glue and that was it, a good polish, then wax and it looks brand new. The dealer must have ripped off my old one and used razor blade to scrape off the tape and just stuck on the new one figuring i would never remove the door fob.....
yea wade i spent all thursday cleaning up my girl. I polished it with a deWalt buffer and a white polish pad using Mequiar's ScratchX 2.0, then i hand waxed two coats of Mequiar's cleaner wax, then two coats of Mequiar's NXT 2.0 wax. All i can sa it the truck never shined better even when it was new
wade does Ford still offer the door fob for the 2004? I have to do something about these scratches and putting a new one on is the only thing i can do other then getting the entire door painted....
