I have a 2001 Excursion, V10,4x4, 37,xxx miles. All of a sudden my vent windows on the sides of the truck won't work. Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice would be appreciated. Danscursion
I think this is pretty common. My drivers side no longer works either. You would think a window motor would last more than a couple of years!! I am not even going to fix it. COACH

Get back and work with the actuator while somone presses the button. mine did this once and the window was just stuck. Tree sap, pollen, etc that is getting all over my/your truck sometimes makes the weatherstripping sticky.
One thing that happened to mine was the seals had dried out and glued themselves to the glass. Once I got them opened using the prescribed "push on the glass and operate" principal, I used some silicone based oil and re-lubed the seals. Hasn't happened again....
Is the motor making any noise when you try to open them?
I also had the rear window do the same thing....I had to get in the back and push while someone else pulled the latch....
On my first X, 2000LTD, there was a recall on the light switch that would prevent the domelight from working, and kept the rear vent windows from operating.
So if the dome light is not working, you may need to go to the dealer to see if this applies... otherwise, dirt has just "glued" your windows shut.
