Wow that looks cool, it will definitely stand out. Maybe when i do my valve covers this will work. Does it help to get old gasket material off?

I considered it until I realized that will cost me money and to clean it and paint it only cost me a little time since I had the paint already. Once the Bronco is running down the road (going to be a long wait) the Ex will get a lot more attention.

I'm not sure if it will help get gasket material off since the diff cover only had a little silicone that I scrapped off before I dunked it. I will let you know if I ever find something to dunk that has a gasket attached.

Alright, it might work to loosen them but i don't know. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try some day.

Well I cleaned the spindles and hub and rotor assembly I am swapping onto my Bronco today. All cleaned and scrubbed, then coated in WD-40 to prevent any flash rusting. If I am lucky I might make some progress on the Bronco this week.

Well I changed directions on the axle and decided to swap the knuckles too since the HD ones have a much heavier casting. I decided to clean it up but didn't want to pull the ball joints. I over filled them with grease and threw it in the tank so we'll see how it works. Worst case it I have to replace the ball joints.

I'm gonna try this tonight on some antique wrenches I picked up. Will have to post some pics when done.

Ok, so I realized I never posted any update pics to this thread so here are a few.
The tub when it was cleaning my knuckles.

The tub a day after I finished cleaning the knuckle, caliper bracket, and brake dust shield. That is the rust that came off settling in the bottom of the tub.

The cleaned and painted knuckle.

The dust shield and caliper bracket.

I have since emptied the tub because I'm done cleaning stuff for the moment. I did leave the rebar secured inside the tub so it's all ready to use next time I need it. I will just have to fill it with water and mix the solution.
I hope this helps someone else that may not have seen it the first time around.
