I second the Chevron techron. Don't waste your money on anything else (like that STP junk). The Chevron is the only one that I've ever used and actually seen a real difference in gas mileage.
A few years back, Car and Driver did an article about this. The only thing they saw that worked was Techron. The usual $1 cheap stuff was pretty much placebo or very mild.
I don't know if some of the newer expensive stuff works. I have used techron many times and think it works but never had an obvious case where I knew either way.
I use a pressurized can you get from the parts house .It goes in where the schraeder valve is on the fuel rail.Seems to work for me.Are you sure your cat convertor is not stopping up ???Hope this helps.

Clay, at what parts store were you able to find this. I asked about something like that a year or so ago at a local Carquest store, and they said that wasn't a DIY-type of product. I seriously doubt that AutoZone or PepBoys would have it.....
I just used Valvoline SynPower Complete Fuel System Cleaner (says every 12000 miles) and followed up with their Fuel Injector Cleaner (says every 3000 miles). No noticable difference, but truck already was running good ('95 F150 300 I6 with 92000 miles) and wanted to keep it that way. Anybody else use these two products? What do you think?

I got it from Hi-Lo / Oreilly's here in southeast texas. Its called (Pro Cleen)Professional Fuel Injector Cleaner (#CSF56)made by Borg Warner. You will need to buy a hose kit(#CST70) in order to use the can, but you can use the hose kit over and over again. This hose connects to the schraeder valve on the fuel rail. You disconnect the hose on the fuel pressure regulator and pull the relay for the fuel pump before cranking the motor. The motor will run about five minutes on the can then you reconnect the relay and the hose on the fuel pressure regulator.Your all done !!!
If this don't clean them nothing will.I clean them once a year just for good measure.
Hope this helps.
I was told (not by anyone associated with Ford) to ONLY use Ford fuel injection cleaner in a ford, since other brands can deteriorate some seals or gaskets...somewhere. I can't remember exactly. That actually probably doesn't help, just my opinion, wrong though it probably is.
