The rivets or the torx screw? This is at the end of the shifter tube and is what moves the cable, I removed the torx screws and put allen socket heads with loctite.

He just had a chance to get a good look after he got home from work. one torx head has sheared off. he found it on the floor. Now The fun part.. To get the thread part out.

It shouldn't be very tight, left hand bits are handy in this situation, but I had one sheared, and was able to turn it out with just my finger pressure to catch the sheared portion.
