Okay so I know this question will bring many answers, but I am about to do my first oil change on both crankcase and differentials as I just got this truck. What would some of you recommend as the best oil(s) and filter combination for light daily driving here in the Northwest. I have a 351m (might be 400) with NP435 and Dana 44 front/60 rear. I am looking for mostly what you all would suggest as brands and styles. Mostly I am seeing 10-30W but I would like some of your advice for help my motors longevity.

I use Redline for my gear lube. I use Mobile 1 that I buy at Costco. Puralator oil filters w/ Baldwin B-50 bypass. I change the filter (which mine is a remote filter) at 5K, add a qt and then change the oil at 10K. Works for me.....
Rebuilt my engine 2 years ago and as I liked castrol I gave them a buzz and asked their opinion. They suggested 10w-40 GTX-2. I am in Australia and the temperatures may get hotter than where you are, I dont know.
More recently (6 months ago) I rang them again as I was finished the run-in of the engine (it doesnt get out much but had a change already) and wanted to know what they thought. They still said GTX-2 was fine, but recommended the edge range (with new titanium so it's more expensive dont you know!) which in the 25w-50 range is a good looking oil for my engine, but definitely not a budget choice-not fully synthetic either.
Well thanks crsmiffy. I will be using mine as a "daily driver"...sort of. I catch the bus and only put 6000 or less miles a year on my vehicle that I drive now. Our temperature range here is 15F in the winter to 100F in summer. I too have only ever used Castrol so I am glad to hear other people opinions about what works for them. Thanks again.
