bolt on sun visor

hey guys im in the market for one of the sunvisors that go on the top of the cab, like a lund or another company. I was just wondering if anyone has any pros and cons to them and which company would be best. I already have a painter waiting for it so color doesnt matter and how did you guys install them? the guy im going to use for paint also will install it using some 3m panel bond adhesive to make it water tight.

thank you,
-AJ

I have a lund on mine, had one on my last truck also. You either like them or you don't. I'm not sure about using panel adhesive on it though. You don't want to glue it to the roof, just make a seal. Use urathane wind shield sealer or some silicone. You want something that will release with a steady pull and not bond or bite into the paint.

I had one on my 97... Looked good, ended up tearing the roof back. I will never install one on another truck.

Nope... Just happened over time. Driving down the interstate at 80mph... Just slowly pulled the self tappers they installed it with out, so then I went with bigger screws, then ended up with elevator bolts. There were 3 1" plus tears in the top of the roof.

Caulk and watched it...

Wow, Never heard of that before. My other truck was a 95psd. I guess I'll stay under 80.

Do yourself a favor and not ruin your truck with one of those POS things.

1) They will leak
2) They ruin your roof with holes
3) They look awful
4) They flutter at high speeds

I had one on my 250 when I bought it...I told the guy I almost didn't even come to look at the truck because of the visor.

I gave it a shot, but after two weeks I took it off and sealed the holes with silicon. Finally got the roof properly filled and painted this spring.

The worst part? I advertised the damn thing after I pulled it off the truck and someone 3 hours away bought it....
