91 Ranger 4.0 fuel injector question

My Ranger stated running rough and i been having trouble starting in the morning so i started trouble shooting. New fuel filter, spark plug wires, new air filter. Still ran rough so i pulled the plugs. All looked normal except for 1 which was black and smelled of old gas. I'm thinking bad injector. Its a 91 so I'm thinking of replacing all of them. I checked ebay and found refurbished for a decent price. Anyone have any thoughts o
r experience with ASNU machine refurbished injectors, does it sound like I'm even on the right track replacing the injectors? Thanks in advance.

I ran Lucas fuel injector cleaner through the gas tank and ran it for a couple of days. I then put in a different spark plug and its running fine Niue. I'm gonna finish the tank if had, run another can to be sure then replace all spark plus. Hope this may help someone. Thanks for all the help i got here, the responses were over whelming.

Hopefully it will stay working. I have also seen the PCM go bad and the injector driver stick wide open. I don't think this is the case with yours.Just add some cleaner to the next couple of tanks and it should be ok.

The truck has been running fine till the cold weather hit. One other symptom i didn't mention was popping or mis fire from under the hood upon start up. This has began going on for a while but until cold weather would still start after a few cranks. Now it acts like out of gas every time i start it especially on cold mornings. It cranks for about 5 minutes before it starts popping under the hood and i know it's about to start. Once it starts it runs and idles fine. Any opinions and input is greatly appreciated.

I would check fuel pressure on a cold start. Your regulator or pump could be letting all of the fuel bleed back to the tank.
I hav ealso seen a bad crank sensor cause similar issues.

Will do, what should the readings be? I forgot to mention about a year ago I was having allot of rough idle and acceleration problems so I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and solved that issue. Not that it can't still be going bad but hasn't caused the issues it was before.

I'm 90%sure now it's the fuel pump. Just as an experiment i primed it with the key 20times on a cold morning and it fried right up. This to me proves the issue is fuel leaking out of the line every time i turn it off. Is there any way to determine for sure it's the fuel pump or a stuck open injector ? The oil doesn't seem to smell of gas so I'm leaning towards the pump but I've replaced it three times already in less than year and every one has done this.
