Injector problem??

Hey havent been on here in a while been busy. Have a question tho. How do you know if you have an injector going bad. I know its winter and its colder but its been around the mid 40's during the day and down in the 30's and rarely in the 20's at night. Every morning when I go to start my truck it runs real rough then when it starts to idle up after it runs for about 3 mins. it dies. I usually end up starting it about 3 times before it will stay running. And then I atleast have to let it run for 15 mins. or it will just die if I give it to much throttle. Also it sounds like its missing on one cylinder until it gets warm. If you watch the engine run while its cold it shakes real bad then when it warms up it comes out of it. Last winter I replaced both solenoids and glo plugs and it did fine. It has another issue now because it ran much better last year. Also if you give it much throttle while its cold it pours out white smoke out the exhaust. But when its warm it runs great. Thanks

You could get someone to buzz test the injectors. What kind of oil are you running

Maybe someone else will chime in. I have heard of poppets sticking till the injectors warm up then smoothing out, but I always thought it was a running rough condition never knew it causes stalling...

I didn't think it would cause stalling either, unless it's more than just one injector. A buzz test on a cold engine and a cylinder contribution test, or rotational velocity (per delta) readings on a warm engine should give you a better idea of what kind of shape your injectors are in.

How many miles on the current oil, and is it full? Air and fuel filter in good shape? Alternator putting out 14+ volts at idle? Don't want to overlook the basics.
