I also forgot to mention that recently my son in law put a DP tuner on my 7.3. I get over a mpg better when pulling the horse trailer in the mtns. I also like the decel. If I had a manual I probably would not have bought the DP. This probably belongs in 7.3, but I have no desire to chip or tune the 2007 and it is not tuned now. I am a pita on maintenace. I only allow my tranny to go 24k on fluid changes and change oil dino rotella 4k or less and change fuel filter with every oil change.
If you are such a PITA on maint.... the 6.0 will probably be a good fit for you... once you catch up on anything the previous owners didn't get taken care of...
Truck has 48,000 miles and was used to pull a fifth wheel. The truck has now set for over 6 months. The truck is a Lariat. Built into the dash is a slider switch with a gain on it. Do these trucks have built in trailer brakes. The previous owner died of a heart attack. He used this to pull his 5th wheel from Tx to here. He was a campground host at a state park. His wife is less than knowledgeable. Truck has new interstate batts and Michelins. Motorcraft filters and no mods.
Sure, you can plug the scan gauge into any vehicle to set up the gauges. It probably won't read most of them correctly if your inputting codes for a 6.0 while it's plugged into a 7.3 (or what ever) but it will remember what you put in it so it will be ready for your test drive.
It's not as bad as it looks to set it up, after you get one or two you'll get faster at it. If you print the codes you plan to use and keep them and the ScanGauge in sight it will go quicker. The SG goes to sleep too quick if you don't press a button in a (very) few seconds.
If you are handy with this stuff, here is instructions for powering the SG with just a 9v battery. Also, check out step 11 about putting the SG in test mode to keep it from going to sleep. ( thanks Sig40) https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...7&d=1337910050
Also, here is a large type list of the most commonly used codes for us guys who's eyesight ain't what it used to be. . At the end is a handy list of acronyms. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...8&d=1337911266
Both are PDF (Adobe) files.

Thanks I am going to purchase one tomorrow. Even with the neuropathy I can still run my GPS on horseback. This truck is priced less than it should be and I believe is a good deal. The sd diesels just are not selling right now with the $4plus diesel and expected higher the drought is hurting and the uncertainty of the economy. I am almost 60 and I have not seen things like this before.
