Anybody buying 2012's below X-plan price before rebates? I have X plan available to me but I am wondering if I can get a dealer to do better than that?
After looking at my bill of sale, my X-plan reduced my truck by 7.7% but I just received an email from my dealership that shows the X-plan should have been $1000 less (which would have been 9%) so I have to check into that. Regardless, X-plan was better than not using it as they wouldn't go that deep. With rebate, I got $9000 off. That was the better deal I saw out there. I think geography plays into what the dealership is willing to do (because of availability).
Shhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anybody, but X-plan and invoice are the same.
And yes, it is very possible to get well under x-plan. I basically got Z plan+. Came out to about 13% off before rebates. The dealer had been sitting on the truck and it was the end of the month. You just have to do your homework, be aggressive, and be ready to walk out of the dealership. There are way more trucks out there than there are buyers. Keep that in mind.
I agree. The simplicity is worth it too me. Takes all the stress out, unless you like that kind of thing.
I also agree. Can you get less? Probably, but not without some work and time. X-plan is employee pricing + 4% then take off any incentives.
As a example mine was: MSRP: $51860
Dealer invoice: $47687.62
A/Z Plan: $45761.62
D Plan: $45761.62
X Plan: $47771.87
Like someone said X Plan is basically dealer invoice. Unless the dealership is looking to "dump" the truck for some reason I think you are going to have to work hard to get less than X-plan. I am sure some have done it but to me it isn't worth the time and hassle involved.
Walk in, that's the truck I want, here is my X-plan pin, here is the price, have a nice day.....go enjoy your truck.
I found the truck I wanted, called the Sales Manager and told him I was either flying to Boisie to buy a truck in Idaho with a no haggle price, or I would drive the hour and a half to his dealer and buy the truck. I told him I needed $500 under invoice to match the price in Idaho, plus rebates and he agreed to sell me the truck once he figured out I was serious. Add on the $5,750 in rebates that I got and I did fairly well.
I had previously sold my Excursion for double what any dealer would give me on trade, so my net was where I needed it on the truck. I don't mess with Salespeople, I go right to the Fleet Mgr, or the Sales Mgr.
The rebates are not where they were when I bought mine this spring, but the will get better.

Just my opinion.
Exactly. But just to add another...NO silly dealer fees either.

I don't think a dealer can as the x plan is cheaper than what the dealer can buy the tuck for.
