Ive been on here quite a while and I figured that instead of making different threads for every project I'd just make a build thread for the truck.
So as of making this thread the projects done (roughly in order of completion) have been:
1. Front disk brakes (sorry dont have pictures)
2. Under bed fuel cell:
3. Stereo system:
4. Pulled the 289 that came with the truck and replaced it in favor of a rebuilt 302:
5. Home built long tube headers and exhaust system:
6. Aluminum radiator, trans cooler, E-fan:
7. Custom gauges:
8. Rust repairs (more pictures coming soon)
9. Shaved Drip Rails:
10. 1996 F250 Bench seat (still needs covered):
11. Rancho Steering stabilizer:
12. Flag/Toolbox mount
Upcoming projects are gonna be:
1. Wiring Harness (EZ Wire)
2. Front and rear sway bars
3. Fiberglass headliner/overhead console
4. Megamat sound deadening
5. Swap 4-point harnesses for traditional over the shoulder seatbelts
6. Power brake booster
7. Re-gear/AOD swap
8. Line-X steps and bed
9. Chrome '63 grille to replace the '62 grille
Thats it for now! I'll add more as I do more and I will take more pics as i get the chance. If anyone wants more pictures or detail on anything just ask!!!
Thanks for looking!!

Reason: More More More
Where are you sourcing your sway bars from? I have been looking at this modification for a few years and haven't found anything that screams "use me". Looking at the FX-100 project, they sourced the rear sway bars from a bus or other large chassis truck.
For the power booster check evilbay. They have a master/proportion/booster combo with brackets for next to nothing currently listed.
I read a write up on swaybars using kits from summit. I will upload links tomorrow when I'm on my laptop but both bars are available from summit. The rear you can find by doing a vehicle search for your truck. I forget what the front went to but it fit perfectly.
The sway bar for the front is an Addco 113 and the rear is a Addco 956 both are on summit if you just search addco and the number. The 113 is actually an aftermarket bar for some of the 67 and newer trucks but it will fit the straight axles. You will just have to make a set of mounts for the end links to attach to the U-bolts on the front axle.
Hey guys, added pictures above of rust repairs, gauges and the steering stabilizer. Should have pics in a couple days for a headliner. Any questions or comments post away!!
Its been a while since I updated this so here we go:
Finished my new sub enclosure, still need to wire it:
I have installed the EZ wire harness but there are a few things here and there that are still getting wired in, next up will be power door locks and a keyless entry unit.
Still working on my headliner, I keep getting distracted and running out of money but i want to have it done soon.
I will snap some pics tomorrow if i get a chance. I definitely recommend the EZ wire kit, i did the Mini 20 kit and it was very easy. I converted to a 1 wire alternator and MSD ignition when i did the rewire and the three together made the conversion a piece of cake. The only tricky part was rewiring the headlight switch and that just took a few minutes with an Ohm meter to figure that out.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to ask about that. Unfortunately it's not a true HUD but rather and iPhone app that simulates one. You lay the phone on the dash and the reflection looks like a HUD. I was using it to check my speedo and a friend took the picture
Have you considered dropping the bed down 2" so the line on the door matches? I am wanting to do this on my 63 and have yet to find someone that has done it. Seems it might be a really easy job.
No I haven't, doing so would throw of te alignment between the bottom of the cab and the bottom of the bed which would look horrible. The wrong bed doesn't bothere and the questions about if are fun IMO. If you don't like the way the bed lines up you're probably better off just swapping beds as any modifications would make it look worse I think.
True. Telling that small part of ford history to people can be fun and people have different and interesting reactions. I am considering dropping mine the 1.5" that it needs to line up and then just trim horizontally the lip that is hanging over near the cab at bottom.
That might work, i just think that lowering the box will make it look weird, like the bed walls would look to short but hey it might work. Worst come to worst you just buy a matching box if it doesnt turn out.
