Can someone tell me how I would go about a suspension lift with a 71 F250? I don't know whether or not it would need shackles or blocks for the springs. I also don't know what type of coils and a arms to get for the front.
Can someone give me a link to some locking rear differentials?
And lastly if I'm switching out the camshaft, manifold, and carb do I have to switch out anything else? And does a performer 390 carb work with a 360 block?
2WD rigs don't have A-arms.. they have twin I-beams and radius arms.
For the rear, a shackle flip (tension to compression), new lift springs, or blocks will gain the additional height.
Lockers - Dana 60 rear end, right?? Use Google to research the brands
Detroit Locker by Eaton
Yukon Gear (Zip lockers and Grizzly Lockers)
ARB
Richmond Lock-Right
Richmond Powertrax
Ox Locker
A new camshaft requires new lifters. While you're there, replace the timing chain. You'll also need the require gaskets. I'm sure you can figure out which ones.
I'm confused by your use of the term "Performer 390"... IIRC, that's an intake manifold - not a carburetor ... or do you mean a 390 cfm carb?
Locker- I believe it is a Dana 60 but I'd have to check. I don't know what other possibilities it could be.
I meant the Edlebrock Performer 390 intake manifold sorry for the confusion.
Nope. I have not used the Autofab lift... I have a real 4x4.. two of 'em. My 70 mule is going to be a street truck for now. It might morph into a prerunner so I've stored a pair 78 I-beams for future use unless I find a decent 71-72 shortbed.
The Performer 390 will fit fine on a 360. I'm using an Edelbrock 2105, the clone of the Perf 390, on both of my FEs. One is wearing an Eddy 1406 and the other will use Summit's 600 cfm Street/Strip carb, a clone of Holley's 3310.

I believe it can. Your best bet is to call them up and ask them what kind of testing has been performed and it they have heard of any issues. Alternatively, contact FTE user "76hauler" on the following page.. He works or is associated with Autofab.

I'm pretty confident it is a Dana 60 16spline. I found an Eaton E-locker but it has a 30 spline count. How would I go about getting that to fit my rig.
Yea I'm going for a prerunner"ish" set-up.
Alright sweet I was worried about the manifold fitting. I'm going to install the thunder AVS offroad carb from Edle on it as well.
Alright I will message him, got any other brands I should look at?
Guess donuts will be hard haha
Is it bad for the differential to be constantly engaged?
It can be bad to run a spool on the street.. increased tire wear (it'll chirp in turns), binding, and it can be real hairy with wet roadways because it'll lose traction. Leave spools for the straightliners and pure offroad rigs.
ARB has selectable lockers.. others are "automatic" and will lock when traction in one of the tires is detected. Richmond's Lock-Right and Powertrax are the cheapest and easily installed if it has an open rear end.
