My son was driving my '93 Ranger the other day, when the lower 1/2 of the steering column cover dropped in his lap. I knew it was loose before then, and had planned on tightening it up, but, hey my bad.
Couldn't find either of the 2 screws on the floor, and since I don't even know what they looked like, I'm having a hard time replacing them.
I went to the nearest dealer and found a part #, but with no description at all, and I was told they're "obsolete", no longer available through FoMoCo. The part # is: 55931-S2. Anyone know what size/length/thread is the right one??? I'm sure I can figure it out given an hour or so @ the local hardware store, but I know I can't be the only one who's run into this problem. Thanks in advance!
I pulled a screw from my 2004 model to look at and it's just a regular philips-head sheet metal screw. The one I looked at is 1 inch long, but yours may be different. They're just screwing into plastic, so it's not critical.
