PSD004, you ever consider just ditching the EGR ... I'm sure you have seen the discussions around here .. I read those and contemplated it for a while and saw no real advantages to hanging on to the EGR operation and just disconnected the EGR connector when the engine was off and have had zero adverse issues ... no Check Engine or anything ... FWIW
yes i have diconnected the egr and the problem i had was still there(popping and loss of boost at 2000rpm) it wouldnt happen all the time....ford comp keeps saying egr fault...its driving me nuts..just thought some 1 might of had the same prob...mech is now leaning to electrical prob...but if it was electrical wouldnt it happen all the time
yes they have said the turbo is screwed....got a call from mech today.....that they will take apart the turbo and clean it for a texas mickey....pretty good deal if u ask me ...hope it cures all my headaches....
You'll be lucky if it does fix the problem..permantly. Replacing the turbo with one of the new type will probably take care of your problem. They gotta get their dollars outta ya first. Watch it VERY closely after you get it back. If you are not COMPLETELY satified, complain, complain, complain. Tell them you wnat the new type turbo.....be sure you do not pay for this cleaning...or get the full labor/parts charge deducted from the cost of the new turbo.
dont worry lately i have learned to complain alot with them....spend big dollars and all u get is headaches
It could be worse. Wait till your dealership decides they are tired of hearing you gripe about your truck not running right and doesn't call you back. I've been short on people to complain to save this message board.
And honestly, Kentucky Skipper, there is not much more we can do for you here either.
I don't mean to be flippant or non-caring but, we are now fully aware of your issues. Sadly, even with vloney's help, we cannot fix your truck. I do not see where continued posting of your dis-satisfaction with Ford Customer Service, here, is going to effect change.
We all want to see your truck get fixed and are more than interested in the final resolution, but, please refrain from using this board as a soapbox.
With all due respect KW, there are a few threads that can be related to a soapbox. Certainly there off the topic of the 6.0 and should have been moved to the general discussion.

I don't have a problem with folks stating their issues, whether technical or customer service related. In fact, I do my utmost best to support them. Everyone needs to step up on the soap box from time to time.
In addition, I try not to over moderate and ship posts or threads off to other forums as soon as they appear. Especially within the 6.0 Forum. This is where our friends and respected opinions live. So many times I leave posts or threads here in respect of those bonds. Besides, I don't have the time or inclination to evaluate, edit and move posts on thread by thread basis.
If I am to err in moderation, I prefer that it be because of that respect.
The very nature of the 6.0 often lends our topics to be dynamic in nature and evolve into "off-topic" discussions.
However, redundancy wears thin on the general membership. This is why I made my request of Kentucky Skipper.
This was as good a place as any to do so.
Now, back on topic:
Powerstroke004, have you had all the recalls / reflashes completed on your truck?
KW and GarageDoc.....tonite my mech called me over to his place and he brought the portable ford comp home and put in the latest update and replaced the egr and so far so good no problems as of yet but i only went about 30 km return trip...he still insists the turbo needs to b replaced ..... when it did act up it wasnt all the time sometimes ran great and then it would all of a sudden start popping and then clear up again....hopefully as it did 2 nite it keeps running good...thx guys...will update in a couple days and gosh i hope its good news i can put on here......
