The ease of install coupled with the non-return fuel system has got me seriously thinking about it for my '71 crew cab! She's going to be my daily driver once we move back to Norcal so the EFI would be nice. The 390 that's in it has less than 5K miles on a rebuild & I love the power/ torque its got and would prefer to keep it in the truck. Seems like a real nice way to increase driveability and maybe squeak some more performance & MPG out of it.
I'm too am contemplating MSD's Atomic or FAST's EZ-EFI ... 2x on the pulse width modulated pump and no return with MSD. That is a definite plus. My 70 bump project is early in the build process but I gotta make a decision sometime in the next six months.
A bummer is ya can't run NOS on the MSD.. dunno about the EZ-EFI -yet. More research to do....
Might get cheaper by the time I'm ready for it but I'm prepared to spend the dough to make life a little easier as a daily driver. I like this kit MUCH better than any of the other throttle body setups on the market as it minimizes wiring & fuel system plumbing. Easy install as well so worth the extra coin IMO over the others. Yeah, I could probably swap a factory injected engine in or a diesel for that price but I like my 390!
.. My 70 LB is a long-term mule to see if 20 MPG is attainable with an FE... it's gonna go the whole nine yards with a EFI, TKO-500, and yes, aero mods ...gotta figure out how to make this brick a lil slicker....air dam/spoiler/splitter, under-tray, modified grill, gutter delete, wiper delete, modified hood lip, sealed headlight doors, lightened, etc.
If it doesn't work out, then it's gonna be a helluva parts donor for my other projects.

Wonder how this stacks up for the over all long run with others. I'd would go with one of these units now if, I never left town with my truck as. I have a car that, I can only fix with a cell phone and a tow truck when out on the road any where with it. At least, I can always fix a carb if it screws up. I think a few yrs backs Hot Rod Mag had a efi shoot out comparison. Any way Reliability would be my concern..
orich
I hear ya there orich & I purposefully chose an old school rig as a DD for the reasons you state being easy to fix & reliable (also no smog in CA!). I'll see how these MSD units fair over the long haul as I'm a ways out from using this rig regularly (3 yrs).
