I found a transmission on Craigslist. The guy who has it thinks it is a T5 out of a 1986 Ford truck. It comes with bell housing and shifter. I think I can get it for next to nothing. He sent pictures but as a new user I guess I don't have enough post to attach them. Here are some numbers cast on the transmission that I can read. They are kind of hard to read. Hope I got them right.

RF-E2TP-7008-AA
E2AP-7DD27-BA

Any help identifing it would be appreciated.

I want to put it on a 1983 F100 with a 302.

Both these ID numbers are 1982 related. The first number (should be 7006) is the casting number (foundry mark) found on the trans case, cannot be decoded.

No such number as 7DD27, better look at it again. If it's 7D027 = ID number: E2AP-7D027-BA = Ford part number: E2DZ-7D027-A .. Servo Cover 1982/84 misc Passenger Car C5 A/T.

Guess it is just another Craigslist scam? Thanks for the information.

I looked at the pictures again and you are correct. It does appear to be 7D027. I did see another number stamped on it. Couldn't tell where it was stamped but it looks like FCA85901. Also another cast number in a circle 84 2 31 which I assume is a date although there is not 31 days if Feb.
