Well the D2AE number indicates a cylinder case designed for 1972 full size cars, but it would have been used for several subsequent years in many Ford cars and trucks.
The other numbers aren't quite right. Try scrubbing them up a bit with a small wire brush and then recheck the digits. There is a "sticky" post at the top of this forum which explains these numbers and will give you an idea of which digits are numbers, which are letters.
Or even better, if you are able to post good pictures of the casting numbers we can decipher them here.
Couldn't get any further details, both are from ebay auctions. Thanks for the info provided though, confirms what the seller claimed (bonus as some folks over here aren't very clued up when it comes to american automotive stuff).
Briefly searching the number D2AE - OA, it seems that that's not a valid Ford number, and perhaps it is a D2AE - CA. This corresponds to a 351 Cleveland with 4 bolt main bearing caps, which would be a very good Cleveland engine but isn't a Windsor.
If the ebay listing is still active you can post a link so members can look at the image to confirm just what it is.
