My dad found a whole bunch of stuff when we cleaned out my Grandma's house (currently my parents house). The newspapers and magazines were the most interesting especially the Ads for new cars. If I could only get a new car for the same price as they show in the ads.

I used to collect stamps as a kid, but I haven't kept up with values in quite awhile. I can tell you this: like anything else, condition is key. Rips, stains, fading, etc... will make any stamp almost worthless. Also, are these stamps just loose or attached to pages of a stamp album? If they're attached, then it should have been done with what's called a "stamp hinge," a little piece of folded cellophane with adhesive. One half of the hinge is moistened and attached to the back of the stamp, the other half gets attached to the page. This keeps the stamp in like-new condition, and makes it easy to remove if you want to sell it. If someone licked the glue on the stamp, or used some sort of glue to attach it to the page, then it's valus is much, much less.
I think they are loose,i saw the box they are in while i was in the attic the other day and started wondering about them. But i remembered about the starter kit and was wondering about the value. The magazines aren't real valuable as there seems to be many cherry examples around.I have Life mags in perfect shape w/bing crosby, mitzi gaynor, and have have some as far back as 1939.The mags that are not in good shape, i thought about framing the full page ads and hanging them in my den.The ads are really cool.I will check on the stamps when i get in, right now i am on the rig in the gulf of mexico.
