i was going to ask about the hpop vs injection pump. i looked on ebay because i was curious of the price for one, and all i kept coming up with was stuff related to the hpop.

the other gentleman asked me if i push my truck in neutral, does it keep running. well, yes and no. i took it out this a.m. to see. at first, i was able to keep it running. but upon the return home, it died when i had it in neutral. when it dies, it takes several minutes before it starts back up. also, the truck will idle seemingly for days without dying, before and after the taking out my truck with the stalling.

then to add more injury to insult, today when coming home, the water in fuel light came on and stayed on. so i opened that drain to drain it out, but the light never went off. as a result of this, i have a couple questions: do our IH engines have an actual water separator or is it an integral part of the fuel filter assembly? another question: does anyone have an personal knowledge or experience with those air dog II water separator/filter systems? they boast of their product by adding a line that it replaces the original mechanical fuel pump. well, if i installed that system right after the forward fuel tank and left the mechancial pump in, would that have any detriment on the fuel system, or would i need to remove that pump?

thank you for your help. this is getting so frustrating because now i really do not know where to turn to try address this truck. if it was my chevy one ton, i would have had it resolved long before now!

If you are not having trouble starting it cold , you have an internal high pressure oil leak ..IPR O rings ,or an injector O ring , or possible an Injector poppet issue ...

You will have to do some testing for us to help you.. A scanner , or a gauge set up to look at ICP pressure . Are you up for that ?.. If yes , we can help ...

Yep. now, icp means to me, intracranial pressure, but since this is not medicine, i know it is not what youre talking about! so, please enlighten me! as for scanner, if youre talking about the pcm scanner, it is not throwing any codes.

generally, this truck is hard to start when its cold unless i plug it in before hand.

What scanner have you used? Not all the scanners works on our PDS.
