Carpet ?

I visited the local yard today and found a pretty mint red carpet in a 77 2wd f150.

And i wasn't aware of it till after the fact, but mines a 79 4x4 and it appears the hump is taller in mine.

I was wondering if the carpet from the 2wd work in my 4wd?

Dont qoute me but im pretty sure it will. You'll just have to cut a hole for the tcase shifter.

That brings up another question.
Is there a way to unscrew or unbolt the tcase shifter?

You can unbolt the shifter on the housing inbetween the tranny and tcase.

Great! now i can test it without cutting a hole for the shifter.
I sure hope it works, I'd like to have carpet over the crappy plastic that i have now.

In my estimation....no difference. As it was mentioned earlier, the only difference is the T-case lever. My 76 F-350 was originally an auto, but my Dad swapped it out with a 4spd. Same carpet, only thing was to cut the hole for the trans.

My understanding is that there is about a 2 inch diff between the high and low hump but I'd still give it a shot as u don't have anything to lose. It might even be able to stretch a little.
