Rag Joint help
Just picked up a '76 F250 2wd with pwr steering. The rag joint was shot, so I picked up a Dorman/HELP 31004 to replace it. Well, I got the old one off, but the Dorman unit is too thick to fit. I don't have enough room between the splined lower shaft and upper steering shaft to fit the new coupler. I could barely remove the old coupler and it was basically just the splined coupler (rag portion disentigrated). How do I get this new one to fit? Is this the wrong part?

Loosened the 2 bolts and pulled the steering column down and back. After a lot of cussing, I finally got it to fit. Never knew it was going to be that big of a PITA. Steers much better now - very little play at all. However, my steering wheel is 45 degrees off. I measured and I can turn the wheel 2 full turns in each direction. Can I just remove the wheel and put it back straight?
