Steering gear leak
I have a 2004 f150 I just picked up about 6 mos ago. When I bought it my mechanic said the steering was loose so I had it replaced. It now leaks from the joint where the hoses mate with the gear assembly. It seems to only leak when I'm in a parking lot turning, where the most pressure is generated. I imagine the tire don't help much either, 325/60.
It has been back already once for the same problem.
Is this common with such fat tires? Is there a better way I can attach the hoses?
They connect with a single bolt on a plate which seems flimsy IMHO.
