Tachometer pegs and not working

Hello all,

I have a '93 f-350 with about 355K on her. Good Truck.

I think my Injector pump failed the other day. It fired up and the engine ran away like I had it floored and then died just that quick. Hasn't run since so I am looking at a new injector pump.

But.....

Now my tach is pegged out at maximum. Did I fry my tach in the dash? any ideas?
