Welcome..so what are you working with? Headers can warp, I had BBK's on a 351. I was changing the gasket and nothing lined up right didn't figure headers would warp had to get help one had to pry and the other one bolted.
I'm going to assume your 400m is in a 77.5-79 f150/f250 4x4 pick-up, if so here are both styles. Hedman does offer the chassis exit in a premium model with thicker flanges and ceramic coating but they $$$. Some don't mind but I would weld on standard exit flanges, I don't like the ball and socket style supplied. I have Hedman and am happy, i'm sure you will get different opinions. As far as installing them, the tech sheet that came with mine outlined most of the knuckle busters you will encounter!
spray the bolts with PB blaster 48 hours before hand, completely soak them. Then do it again 24 hours before hand. Then do it again just before you remove them.
Use only a 6 point socket or 6 point box end wrench.
Heat the stubborn ones up till they glow, sometimes it helps to get them off.
