I have a 1952 F-1 Ford pickup with a 6cyl OHV and 3 speed tranny on the floor. What I would like to do is put a V-8 Flathead engine with an automatic transmission. Would also like to change fuel system and put PS and A/C.
So I am looking for some buys and how to information
The first thing that comes to mind for me is the fact that your truck is a 52 with I'm assuming is an OHV 215? You need to show the 52 experts here a good pic of the engine mounts. They're a little different than the flathead mounts. i.e. You may have to switch them out if you want a flathead.
Here's a flathead with AC that I saw at the Rod Run last fall.
Secondly, let me give you a warning. A LOT of guys are getting scammed right now because internet vultures are trolling these forums looking for posts that express an interest in buying parts. So be careful. And, on the flip side, you might want to change your profile to be more specific about your location other than just saying "USA". It would help us determine who might be near you that could have parts for sale or lend a helping hand.
Thanks for the info. That looks like just about what I am looking for. I didn't realize my profile was misleading. I will see about changing it
Thanks Again
Here's an old thread about the automatic transmission behind a flathead. Go up to the "Search this forum" button on the right and try that for further info.
Hey - I have a 52 F1 as well, good to see you want a flat head. Have a look, much nicer than a 350. Also I have installed a T5 5 speed chevy transmission but have not had it out of the garage yet - Soon.
