I don't care to make a big deal out of it but thought others might be interested. Two weeks ago I got front floor mats (model W203) for my '11 extended cab XL. The passenger side mat fits well. The driver's side mat slides forward and back.
I phoned WeatherTech customer service to determine how to fix the problem. They explained that the two 1.5 inch "buttons" on the driver's side mat are the top half of snaps and that I merely need to snap them into their mates on the floor mat below. Well, there aren't any lower snap halves. Perhaps the lower snap halves are missing on the XL only due to the rubber floor mats. While the customer service rep was always polite, he might as well have said "We are terribly sorry that Ford didn't properly accommodate our floor mats".
Again, I don't care to make this into a big deal. I can't imagine this inhibiting brake function by sliding forward. I've been very pleased with WeatherTech products in the past and this is disappointing.
Agreed - disappointing. You might be able to use zip ties in some fashion to anchor the rear of the floor mat to the seat mounting brackets. Done correctly, this may look decent and not too 'home brewed' as a solution to the problem.
