By ya self a mechanical gauge and hook it up to the first port and leave it under the hood.Mount it on ya HPOP bolt. (post #9) Put ya electronic on the second port. You will be able to see if ya electronic is faulty and it is a good indication if ya filter is getting clogged as well.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one burning through ISSPRO sending units.

UPDATE

G'day Fellas,

Got home from sea on Friday so here is an update on this tread I started.

Clay sent me a new sender unit while I was away and I put it in today.

Aaaand the result is; Bingo the ISSPRO sender unit was the culprit (defective)..

That was the second defect unit for me.

Put new one in and no more 100+ PSI .

As I had done all the fault finding steps itemised in the intial post on my thread, I still have the Silver Spring from the RiffRaff Fx, so the reading is a steady 56PSI at Idle.

I can only hope this Sender Unit lasts a lot longer than the original and the first replacement.

Cheers fellas for all the input and I hope it has helped others to fault find their fuel pressure issue .

ISSPRO need to look at the supplier??

Cheersw,
Reg

Is there anything better to use to monitor fuel pressure? I'm about to replace another FP sending unit........

It's either the mechanical gauge going inop from the vibration or the sending unit failing on the electrical gauge.......

There was another thread about this recently. I too have been thru many ISSPro fuel pressure senders. They are inaccurate and unreliable. I did buy a precise, reliable glycerin filled fuel pressure gauge from Northern Tool for $25. It is accurate and steady, but it is HUGE (4") and can only be mounted under the hood (not in cab.)

Valley Instrument Grade A 4in. Stem Mount Glycerin Filled Gauge — 0-100 PSI | Hydraulic Gauges| Northern Tool + Equipment

Still trying to come up with a reliable in cab option.

This is the sending unit I have......ISSPRO is sending me a new one as well. The R89145 are supposed to be better than the last units R89141 (black & brass). Hopefully it was just bad luck that mine went out........

Hanging around the 6.0 forum I have seen many guys run a hose from the "fuel bowl" area to one of the core support bolts, then mount their FP sending unit there. They report much better longevity for their sending units.
