ok i have a 97 f250 with the e4od and i was getting tc slip codes and hard shifts. i was driving and poof lost all power to the wheels like the drive shaft had let go but its something in the tranny. i can start it and try to put it in gear and it does not attempt to go into any gear. could it be the shift position sensor or is my tranny probably toast? thanks for the help

It cannot be ANY sensor. There is nothing electrical that can do this. Something mechanical broke.

It is almost certainly NOT the torque converter. I have never seen a converter fail where the truck won't move at all. Most likely a shaft broke or the splines stripped. Whatever it is, it is inside the transmission.

So, your saying TQ's work when there is no fluid in them?
