Maybe. The 5.4L van could have had the 4R70W or the 4R100 transmissions.
There is a blue tag in the driver's door opening. Under TR will be either a U or an E. U is 4R70W, E is 4R100.

Mark, thank you , I have been using the E250 to pull a 6000 lb. trailer and would like to pull it with the E150 but do not want to destroy the trans.
Is either one of the the trans better than the other for towing that wgt
trailer?

The 4R100 is a stronger transmission, but it really doesn't matter in this instance. Both vans have the same engine, and that's how transmission strength is rated, by the amount of engine torque. Either van should be fine.
