EBP sensor confusion
I have gutted the turbo pedestal and left the solonoid plugged in. My question is, does the EBP sensor have any bearing on the operation of the turbo now? What function does it do now that the EBPV is deleted? Will it throw any codes? Just trying to figure out the flow of things or have i got things all wrong? Roy

The EBPS is used by the PCM, which in turn uses the EBP reading as one the parameters in fueling strategy. This is why a properly functioning EBPS yeilds better fuel mileage and an improperly functioning EBPS can cause a decrease in fuel mileage. The EBPS will work properly with or without a functioning EBPV actuator. With the turbo pedestal gutted the EBPS has no effect on the turbo.
With the solenoid still connected it should not cause a code.
Edit: If it does cause a code it would be a soft code and not light the CEL, and you would only know it set a code if you scanned for codes.
